Quarter Ranch is located in the northeast corner of Washington State,
a scenic drive just over an hour north of the City of Spokane.
The vastness and variety of Buck Quarter Ranch can only be truly appreciated in person. Encompassing a total of over 900 acres, it nestles in a protected dell in the foothills above a fertile farming and ranching valley. Much of the gently rolling terrain is covered in mixed-age timber offering a natural year-round home to an ever-changing tableau of deer, elk, moose, bear, coyote, fox, rabbit, squirrel, eagle, osprey, cougar, and lynx. In addition, several species of migratory gamebirds are seasonal visitors to the Ranch. Towards its southern boundary, the property levels into more than 40 acres of fenced pasture and 360 acres of woodland.
Near the center of the Ranch are two large adjoining natural lakes encompassing over 150 acres. Each has numerous coves, bays, and beach areas surrounded by large trees reflected in the water. A community of fish, beaver, duck, geese, and heron are members of the permanent welcoming committee.
The climate of Buck Quarter Ranch is moderated by the high central plateau to the west, creating four distinct seasons. In spring and fall, rain tends to concentrate in brief showers, rolling out to reveal big billowy clouds and a remarkable 'big sky' effect. Winters are snowy, but summers are pleasantly warm with low humidity and cool evening breezes.
