Recreation On The Ranch
early
every variety of outdoor recreation can be enjoyed at Buck Quarter Ranch.
Specially designed all-weather boat docks near the Guest House and Main Lodge Site are picturesque launching points for an afternoon of rowing, canoeing, or fishing. Swimming beaches, sunbathing spots, and shaded scenic overlooks dot the perimeter of both lakes. Near the bridge where the lakes join, a primitive rifle range has been restored and upgraded with solar panels and fully-automated target retrieval system.
The Stables, soon to be home to a mare and gelding, will allow a spirited gallop in the adjacent fenced grassland, a leisurely trail ride, or an overnight backcountry pack trip beyond the ridgelines.
Perhaps the most novel way of touring the Ranch from roadway to waterway is aboard the fully-restored 1967 convertible Amphicar. Another popular mode of Ranch transportation is a fleet of four-wheel all-terrain vehicles and an eight-wheel drive Avenger that enable travel to the far reaches of the property and beyond. Casual or challenging mountain biking and hiking amidst the natural beauty of an unspoiled alpine setting are always an option.
Yet for all this activity, Buck Quarter Ranch is a true refuge, offering a contemplative distance from worldly concerns.
